Shipbuilding

Shipbuilding Industry Split Inc. covers an area of 600,000 square meters and can build ships up to 300 meters. From design to delivery, the yard provides the whole shipbuilding package. Over the last 95 years, it has delivered more than 460 ships comprising mainly of chemical and oil tankers and bulk carriers.

Brodosplit has three open slipways and one enclosed 60m long slipway, which is specialized for the construction of projects such as coastal patrol ships, mega yachts and passenger cruisers. Manufacturing lines are supported by automated and robot stations. Brodosplit group has initiated the process of in-house production of several product groups, so we have our own diesel engine factory (producing slow speed main engines under MAN Diesel license), workshops for production and assembly of various ship equipment.

After Croatia joined the European Union (EU) in 2013, the yard was privatized and acquired by the DIV Group, one of Croatia's largest producers in the metal industry.

Like all European yards, Brodosplit Shipyard still faces tough competition from Asia – but changing focus and moving from producing bulk carriers and tankers to highly specialized vessels with a higher added value such as ro-pax ferries, coastal patrol vessels, polar expedition vessels, superyachts, sailing vessels and LNG-fuelled container ships. Capability to build vessels ranging from 40 meters up to 300 meters in length is our main advantage because it enables us to constantly supply a variety of type classes. The yard provides full support for vessel design. An in-house design team with 150 employees covers concept design, project and workshop documentation.

Since Brodosplit entered a partnership with AVEVA Marine in 2015, it also offers engineering software solutions. The company is already ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified, which means that it can supply to any investors anywhere in the world.
