Projects for Increasing Energy Efficiency

Every year, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day, which serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental protection and caring for our planet to ensure its sustainability for future generations.

Brodosplit holds the ISO 14001:2004 certification, confirming that the shipyard has established a system of rules and procedures for environmental improvement and protection in accordance with the requirements of this international standard. Obtaining the certification requires a thoughtful and responsible approach to the environment, its monitoring, and the implementation of activities aimed at environmental protection in all business processes and phases, from design to production.

The installation of a new lighting system based on LED technology has resulted in lower electricity consumption and a reduction in CO2 emissions by 172.31 tCO2/year.

Increasing the efficiency of energy use in the production process and transitioning to renewable energy sources in production facilities will result in the cessation of the use of fuel oil as an energy source and a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

The introduction of heat pumps and recuperators for the reuse of waste air thermal energy will reduce fossil fuel consumption and positively impact greenhouse gas emissions, as well as reduce the amount of harmful gases emitted into the atmosphere. Heat pumps will replace current energy sources and enable the transition to more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly energy sources.

The construction of an 8100 KW photovoltaic power plant as part of the projects for increasing energy efficiency in the shipyard’s production facility will reduce the need for purchasing electricity.

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
